Azealia Banks took to Instagram yesterday (Sept. 7) to get political. The New York rapper posted at note supporting Donald Trump’s hard stance on immigration and got barraged with over 1,600 comments from fans who jumped all over the discussion. Banks posted several more notes clarifying her thoughts following a bit of a backlash.
The MC wrote “Do you think it’s bad that I sort of agree with Trumps stance on immigration?” She added, “Not for any other reason than black Americans still not having been paid reparations for slavery and the influx INTERNATIONAL immigrants (not just Mexicans), are sucking up state aid, and government money, space in schools, quality of life etc??”

Her second post called her hot topic words a “social experiment” of an “abstract view of the situation” adding the topic is not “being explored IN DEPTH as it should.”
Over two hours later she responded to detractors writing “And you ALL MISSED THE POINT. I’m not supporting Trump.” Banks added, “I’m pointing out the fact that the media has been really really instrumental in helping black people forget about things and shine this all American bulls — in people’s faces.”
The singer kicks off her tour with K. Michelle on Sept. 15 in Indianapolis.
